Yard Waste ServicesNotice to residents who contract with tree trimmers/cutters:Brush and limbs generated as a result of contracted work (by professional tree trimmers/cutters) will not be collected at the curb by the Conway Sanitation Department. Conway ordinance requires that all professional tree trimming/cutting businesses haul away whatever yard waste they generate). Free yard waste service pickup is provided for wast that is placed within two feet of the curb and does not exceed the following guidelines:
Note: No animal waste of any kind will be accepted. Yard Waste may NOT be placed in the green trash carts...the state has banned yard waste from landfills. Carts with yard waste in them will not be picked up. Optioins for Excess Yard Waste: Limits on the amount of yard waste we can pick up per stop is set in order to provide fair and equitable service to all residents in a timely and efficient manner. On occasion where you have more than the limit or have items too large for the truck to handle, you may: 1. Hold it over until the following week (if it is not too big); 2. Take it to the compost area at the Conway landfill (be sure to take ID and your most recent Conway Corp. bill in order to drop it off for free ). Loads should be tarped to avoid litter. To Reduce Work and Waste: We recommend mulching mowers...it can lead to a healthier yard, less waste, and less work! Backyard composting can be as easy or complex as you like. For more information on this, contact the Cooperative Extension Office at 329-8344, or contact arhomeandgarden.org/composting.htm to learn more. Conway's Compost Facilities:Free Compost/Mulch to Faulkner County Residents; loading is available on Tuesdays & Fridays, 7:30 - 3 p.m. There is no cost for this service. Residents should consider calling 450-6155 before coming to insure accessibility; rain can be a problem. All yard waste that Conway collects goes into a separate area for composting. The quality of the yard waste is a high quality because of the lack of plastic in it.
